God is Here

God is Here

By faith I have to know that God is here. By faith I have to believe that He is near. He loves us—we know that—but I don't always feel it.

Sometimes I feel like I'm begging God to draw close to me again, but, really, He hasn't moved. I have. I've turned my head and my heart. I have to realize all over again that if my eyes aren't locked on Him, I will sink. I haven't been able to feel His love and His presence because I haven't made myself aware of it. He is here—that's a promise. But I must have the eyes to see Him and the ears to hear Him.

This kind of perspective is a daily discipline, not something that's given but something He teaches us. Joy is something I often ask for, but God is joy. And when I seek Him and cultivate His presence, I find fullness of joy (Psalm 16:11).

"Are you weary? I AM rest. Are you weak? I AM strength. Are you empty? I AM fulfillment. Are you stressed? I AM peace. And I AM with you, always."

The Great I AM has made Himself known to us, and He is so good and so loving. Return to Him, seek Him, realign your heart with His.

He designed this relationship perfectly, so that all of our needs are met in Him and by Him. It's something we take hold of—only through the price paid by His precious Son.

We've tried to find God in movies and music and even people, but He is right here. What we're looking for has been looking for us all along. What we see in this world might give us a glimpse of Him, but we will only be satisfied when we truly know (and continue to know) the One who created it all.

"But look for Christ and you will find Him, and with Him everything else…" - C.S. Lewis
